Our three trainers have over 85 years of lived experience of disability and have a great understanding of the challenges and barriers facing both disabled people and organisations aiming to improve their offer of accessibility to all their customers. We have trained across the breadth and depth of the country to a wide cliental from Accessible Destinations and Tourist Offices, to small hotels and businesses. We have worked with the National Trust and English Heritage, independent heritage sites, award winning tourist venues and large sports venues. Our training can be anything from a 45 minute slot as part of your regular training day or our two full day train the trainer programme. Our courses are made to fit your requirements and we offer you a personal service that is really going to make a difference to your customers. Delegates are rewarded with a truly challenging, engaging and enlightening session in building confidence and skills in offering truly outstanding service to all visitors including those with specific needs.
Our training programme is unique and offers a popular module on what to say, what not to say, body language and offering a warm welcome through how you engage and talk to disabled people and our non-verbal communication.
We are experienced in delivering access audits, writing reports, making recommendations to your website and support to complete Accessible Guides to inform disabled customers on your venue’s accessibility so you can meet expectations and improve your all round offer. We have a team of mystery visitors eager to come and experience your organisation and we will write you a report on their findings. We have experience of bringing businesses and organisations together from local areas to work jointly and work towards being an Accessible Destination.
Katie Clarke – Co-founder and Director works with disabled children and families across the UK and has listened to their issues for over 25yrs. She has 6 children including a disabled daughter with complex needs who is a travel blogger. Her personal aim is that disabled people and their families are welcomed where ever they go and that they enjoy memorable days out and holidays away.
Chris Cammiss – Director. Chris delivers training with a great smile that builds confidence amongst participants to understand what disability equality really means and how they can improve their offer to all customers. He has extensive knowledge and experience of access audits and consultancy and we are delighted to have him on board with his all-round skills and personal insight.
Karen Hickton is our chief blogger and body language expert trainer. Karen is mum to two children with special needs and is well respected for her understanding around non-verbal communication and getting the welcome absolutely right for everyone!
